Because of the closed-loop core, it has a higher magnetic field and thus higher inductance and ‘Q’ factor. Also due to its symmetry, the amount of magnetic flux that escapes outside the core (leakage flux) is low; therefore it radiates less electromagnetic interference (EMI). Owing to these factors the toroidal Transformers are more compact and lighter.
