Safety Switches

Schneider Electric – Sensors-Business Development, has launched Preventa XCS range of Safety Switches for robust and light safe guard applications. These are designed to protect machine operators when opening protective guards, doors or covers by stopping dangerous movements of the machine. Safety switches XCS are used in conjugation with preventa safety modules, controllers or PLCs; they provide a category 4/SIL 3 level of access protection according to the requirements of the applicable standards. The new product versions fitted with third contact specifically for diagnostics improve machine availability and also provide better foresight in the event of a fault. As the world leader the company offers a large choice of safety switches making it easy to adapt to the space available and suiting best the specific application environment. With dimensions from 30 x 87 x 15 mm to 52 x 115.5 x 30 mm in plastic (packaging and label manufacture, textile machines) and metal case safety switches (machine tools, presses, iron and steel works, automobile, severe environments) including large choice of actuators: with/without locking of actuator and 2 to 3 contact options. Preventa XCS safety switches have as well with very high resistance to forcible withdrawal of the keyactuator up to 1500N. The LED option provision helps in indicating the position of the machine guard. All products have international recognition such as CE marking, UL/CSA approval and TÜV certification to make it the best-in class in the category, with IP66, IP67 degree of protection both in metal and plastic version.
