Intelligent Astronomical Time Switch

General Industrial Controls, an ISO 9001: 2008 company with TS 16949 certification, offers AstroTM, an astronomical time specifically designed for lighting applications. Available for both single-phase and 3-phase distribution, the relay channels can be independently programmed for On or Off or Pulse operation by specifying the time offset with reference to sunrise and sunset or twilight rise and set. Features include: yearly programming with season mode, provision for setting DST, weekly Off, Off-hours, and Off-hours applied to alternate output on alternate days, with good potential to save overall energy. The time switch has a running reserve of 1,000 hrs and is rechargeable. The device is enabled with manual override facility, protection against under voltage and over voltage so as extend the life of the lamps, active phase selection and auto load changeover feature. Astro also supports Modbus RTU communication protocol to communicate with compatible SCADA software, and can communicate with PC through a serial or a USB cable, and can be programmed through a Windows-based software. There is a provision for a memory card for device-device program transfer. It also comes with a GSM module accessory for remote control through mobile handsets using standard SMS text messages. In addition to remote control, it also enables system diagnostics, remote setting of parameters. The company also provides a complete energy saving, remote control enabled, stabiliser based Lighting Management System that can find extensive application in outdoor lighting management. Its products are eco-friendly, RoHS compliant, CE endorsed with international approvals like UL.
