High-Pressure Resistant Inductive Proximity Switches

Contrinex Series P switches are constructed to overcome the problems of limited sensing distances and poor reliability found in many switches operating in a high-pressure environment. Using Condist® technology, the electronic modules are inserted into thick- walled stainless steel housings. Because of their very long operating distance, it is possible to employ a simple, rugged, sufficiently thick ceramic disk at the sensing face, without any support construction. The entire electronic unit, ferrite core and coil included, is located on the no-pressure side. The housing is heat shrunk onto the ceramic disk. The union produced by this force fit is mechanically very resistant and exceptionally impervious, resulting in devices that are outstanding for applications where there is high dynamic pressure stress. Series P switches come in P12, P18, and P20 models with sensing distances from 1.5 mm to 3 mm and a maximum operating pressure of 7,250 psi. They feature a 304 stainless-steel-housing and a Ceramic ZrO2 sensing face and are available in embeddable, 3-wire DC PNP (N.O. & N.C.) and NPN (N.O.) configurations. These switches are available with PUR cable type 3 or S12 connector.
