Digital Vane Hall Effect Switches

The Cherry sensor Type HE 6450 from V G Electric is a durable, magnetically activated Hall effect vane switch. The device is housed in a plastic package that contains and protects the magnet and electronic circuitry. It is ideally suited for applications requiring the ability to withstand hostile electrical, chemical and mechanical environments. The HE 6450 is packaged in a 24 x 6 x 11 mm, three-pin plastic; housing with 1.27 mm lead spacing ready for circuit board mounting and is supplied with digital output. The housing includes a channel which precisely defines the path the vane will travel. Each Cherry HE 6450 vane switch includes on a single monolithic chip, a voltage regulator, a quadratic hall voltage generator, temperature compensation circuitry, a signal amplifier, an open collector output transistor and a Schmidt trigger providing hysteresis for turning On/Off the switch output for greater immunity to noise and imperfection in the vane.
