Cam operated rotary switches

V G Electric offers cam operated rotary switches manufactured by Gem Telergon Switchgears. Some of the salient features of GT switches include: capability to select up to 36 ways and switch 72 contacts at the same time; double break contacts per pole; and high mechanical and electrical endurance. GT cam switches have the widest range available from 6 A to 1600 A. An extensive variety of switching programmes from simple On/Off to special complex programmes are made available to suit the requirements of customers. Raw materials are sourced from vendors who are approved by CSA & UL. The chambers are fabricated out of special plastics PBT and melamine which possess flame retardent properties. Silver cadmium oxide inlaid contacts are used to achieve high make/break capacities. Telergon cam switches are approved by BV, Lloyds, CSA, UL, CE and Russia Register of Shipping. These switches are tested at Kema and are also suitable for DC applications with appropriate derating. GT switches can also be provided with AC 23R duty complying with IEC 947 3 specifications.
