AUTOMATIC POWER FACTOR CORRECTION RELAYS

Online Micro Controls offer Automatic Power Factor Correction Relays, AutoPF+. It is housed in a standard 144 x 144 mm front panel mounting enclosure. Sensing voltage and current of one of the phases on True RMS principle, the relay computes the power factor of the system. It has a 16 x 2 backlit LCD display to show the load power factor and status of each stage. The capacitor switching sequence can be selected from 3 modes namely FIFO, geometric or intelligent mode. The intelligent mode compensates the power factor in the smallest time. A built-in facility to put any stage in either automatic or manual mode dispenses with cumbersome external auto/ manual switches. If required a stage can also be set Off (mainly for maintenance purpose). The relay works efficiently even under the adverse harmonic loads. It has a user settable number of stages selection, over and under voltage protection, and time delay for switching the capacitor. An optional programmable alarm for predefined alarm condition such as low power factor and RS232 port for connectivity to computers or SCADA systems can be made available. It comes in three models - 8, 12 and 16 stages.
