Automatic power factor correction relay

Trinity Engineering is an indigenous provider of state-of-the-art equipment in power factor and power/energy management. The automatic power factor correction relay is a micro-controller based PF correction relay, which controls four to sixteen capacitor banks for automatic correction of power factor. It senses the PF of any one phase in a three phase electrical system. The signal processing circuit is fully isolated and has harmonic filters. This ensures smooth operation of the relay under severe harmonic generating loads like automatic welding machines and thyristorised rectifiers and DC drives employed in extrusion industries. The relay employs the standard first-in-first-out switching sequence to ensure that all banks are utilised equally. This, along with the in-built switching time delay, enhances capacitor life. Features: micro-controller based intelligent, true RMS relay; compact panel mounting type 144 x 144 mm DIN enclosure; in-built harmonic filters; works under high harmonic content loads also; built-in digital PF meter; very easy pre-setting of parameters; and no % kVAR or C/K to be specified.
