Auto Power Factor Correction Relay

Prok Devices offers Auto Power Factor Correction Relay. This RISC architecture based, intelligent state-of-the-art APFC relay comes with on-line monitoring of line PF through industrial grade backlit LCD display. The unit uses one of the tried and time tested intelligent algorithms to switch the capacitor banks, in a most optimum combination in a shortest time for any dynamic load conditions without the need to select the complicated switching sequences by the user. Unlike the present existing PFCR, the user has a free choice to select and connect any kVAR on any feeder, thereby user need not connect the bank in ascending or descending order as recommended/practiced by other available makes. The target PF can be achieved by less number of switching of capacitor banks and feeder operations and thus capacitor banks can be connected to the system based on the load pattern. The APFC relay will work effectively even when the load is as less as 5% (approximately) and displays a message, viz., low current if load is less than 5% and also displays messages like reversal of CT and PT to indicate the wrong connection of CT/PT at the mains input. The relay switches off the all the capacitor banks whenever current/voltage input fails due to various reasons.
