11 kV Load Break Switch

On Load Gears offers a 11 kV Load Break Switch, Type LBS VAC 12. The LBSvac12 is a three-phase vacuum interrupter switch with a high breaking capacity. It has been designed for power networks and substation systems where it could replace vacuum circuit breakers in selective applications. On each phase a vacuum interrupter performs the function of arc quenching. The vacuum interrupter switch when controlled by a current protection relay unit protects overload and fault currents up to 20 kA. Furthermore when used in combination with high voltage HRC fuses the fuses act as backup devices for fault current levels of up to 50 kA. In the event of overloading, the current protection relay triggers the switch so that the vacuum interrupter, in place of the fuse, breaks the current. On Load Gears was started in 1983 to manufacture OLTCs as a spin off from a company that had existed from 1967. The founders of OLG have 40 + years business experience. Through the last 29 years of existence OLG has expanded its product line to include not only all varieties of tap-changers for the domestic and international markets but also vacuum circuit breakers, weldable transformer bushings and most recently capacitor switches.
