Stackpole high-power Surface Mount Resistor, Model HPC12 offers up to 12.5 W continuous power with no heat sink or air movement required. Measuring 0.5” square by 0.4” high, HPC12 can handle 5 W continuous power with no additional heat sink or air movement required. The HPC incorporates an anodized aluminium housing which allows it to handle significantly more power than other resistors of similar size without causing significant heat rise on the PCB. If the application has 400 lfm air movement, the HPC12 can handle 12.5 W.
