Shunt Power Capacitor

Coimbatore-based Gokul Capacitors manufactures shunt power capacitors that improve the power factor of any electrical installation resulting in reduction in the cost of installation and possibility of increasing plant load. These capacitors reduce the voltage drops, with consequent better output from the machine. These result in lower line loss with the possibility of connecting more loads without increasing the feeder cross-section. These give improved capacity utilisation and longer life to distribution equipment such as transformer, switchgear and cable. These shunt power capacitors are made from the electronic grade zinc alloy. The compact elements are made from the alloy and polypropylene film, and are housed in metallic and non-metallic container to get the required Kvar. By using the zinc alloy metallised propylene film, it is possible to reduce the loss 5-10 times lower than that of the paper capacitors.
