These are required to be incorporated in electrical installations as most industries in India draw apparent power (kVA) from the main supply line. This apparent power is in excess of useful power (kV). The ratio of useful power to apparent power is termed as power factor (PF) of the load. Power capacitors help improve the power factor. The company offers MPP-HD-XL (heavy-duty) power capacitors. These are available in Prismatic 5 kVAr-50 kVAr range for applications in steel/sugar/paper industry. Specifications: rated voltage – 440 V standard; over current – 2.0 in; over voltage – Un + 25% (up to 12 hrs); cap tolerance – 0.95 Cn to 1.1 Cn; degree of protection – IP 42; dielectric losses – < 0.2 watts per kVAr; temperature category – D (max 55°C); container type – 2 colour powder coated; safety devices – overpressure disconnector/discharge resister; dielectric – imported base PP film; dielectric stress level – < 30 V/micron; peak transient – < =300 ln; inductor coil – provided in 20 kVAr prismatic onwards; switch life – 12000 switching per year.
