Dynamic Braking Resistors For 25 kV AC Locomotives

Daulat Ram Industries manufactures Dynamic Braking Resistors. It enables the speed of a train to be controlled by converting the kinetic energy of the train to electrical energy. The traction motors, which normally convert the electrical power to motion, act as generators. The electrical energy generated is fed to resistor bank, which is forced cool by air circulation. The electrical energy is destroyed in the resistances in the form of heat. It provides braking without wear and tear. It minimises the undue problems like such as wheel skidding, jerks causing uncoupling of hoses and even derailments.
