Air Circuit breakers

ME brand air circuit breakers are designed according to international standards. They have a wide range of selection and applications. Range and frame sizes: frame size I - ME 630 to ME 1605; frame size II - ME 2500 to ME 2505; frame size III - ME 3200 to ME 3205; and frame size IV - ME 4005. There is a choice of 4 pole version (ME 630 to ME 2500), fixed of drawout version, horizontal or vertical termination, operation up to 660 V AC and 440 V DC. Construction: these ACBs comprise of Operating mechanism, arc quenching chamber, pole unit and tripping devices contained in a compact and modular enclosure. The entire range is modular in construction independent of frame size. Thus, most of the maintainable parts are common, enabling considerable saving on spare parts inventories. Drawout construction: the ACBs are mounted on a movable carriage equipped with contacts corresponding to the isolating contacts. The drawout system has got three positions, viz, service, test and drawout. The CB can be brought out from the service or test position to the drawout position by operating a crank handle inserted into the drawout mechanism provided on the carriage. In order to avoid breaking the circuit at the main isolating contacts, a device is provided on the circuit, which automatically trips the CB before withdrawal or insertion. The CBs are provided with automatic safety shutters made of high are resistant fibre glass compounds, isolating the contacts in with drawable condition. Provision of locking facility in safety shutter adds further safety to operating personnel.
