Moniteur Devices Inc, can equip its valve position transmitters with an ASi interface card to allow on/off automated valves to be networked. The ASi network protocol allows automated valves to be interconnected in any configuration, utilizing two or four wires. The use of quick disconnect pin-style connectors reduces wiring and installation time and lowers installation cost. System reliability is increased because components require less maintenance and are designed to work one way only. Built-in diagnostic functions allow components to be continually monitored. Use of the ASi networking protocol makes set up simpler and the diagnostic functions speed troubleshooting. The ASi network can interface directly with the plant's PLC or through other protocols such as DeviceNet, Fieldbus, or Profibus via a gateway. The company offers a variety of ASi interface cards to meet specific customer needs. Typical configurations include: 2-wire, 2-sensor with solenoid power output capability of 2 W @ 24 V DC; or 4-wire, 2-sensor with an additional relay on board to control separately powered 120 V AC or 220 V AC solenoid valves.
