Multiplexer Connects Profibus Pa With Analogous & Binary Sensors

Pepperl + Fuchs GmbH, Germany, offers a multiplexer to connect conventional 0-20 mA sensors and PE 100 feelers in 2- and 4- conductor techniques and thermoelements with a Profibus PA. With thermoelements a measurement uncertainty of 1.0 K and by resistance feelers a value of 0.1 K are attained. 16 sensors can be connected to the instrument. Four multiplexers are cascadable. The entire unit for up to 64 sensors covers only one bus address and loads the energy supply of the bus like one participant only, because the multiplexers are separately supplied. The multiplexer recognises and warns fine and sensor disconnections.
