Motion Capture Without Wires

Ascension Technology introduces a wireless magnetic tracker. Used primarily to capture human motion in real time for hot computer games and film animation, the MotionStar Wireless uses pulsed DC magnetic fields emitted by a long range transmitter to track the position and orientation of up to 14 sensors at more than 100 Hz. Sensor inputs travel via cables to a miniaturised, battery powered Fanny Pack and are then radio transmitted to a base station.
