Modular Commutation Encoder

     Dynapar announces the introduction of the M53, a modular commutation encoder with low profile for easy mounting onto stepper and servo motors. The encoder also features a high 120oC temperature rating that won't limit motor performance, allowing manufacturers to keep from de-rating torque specs. Unlike some competitive modular encoders, the M53 features a direct-read phased array ASIC that provides 2500 PPR (Pulses Per Revolution). The M53 is also available with commutation tracks for 4, 6, or 8 pole brushless motors.
Compact Modular Design
     Unlike traditional modular encoders that require special tools or shims for gapping the encoder disc, the M53 uses an innovative built-in gapping mechanism that requires no special tools or parts that can get lost or damaged. The compact mounting depth is made possible through the use of surface-mount components along with the custom ASIC. With an industry-standard Size 21 mounting pattern
