Intelligent satellite unit (ISU)

Bangalore-based Beltronics offers intelligent satellite unit (Mode CSISU 7562-D), which is a micro-controller based 15-channel data acquisition unit that can be linked to a PC through a two wire multi-drop RS485 communication bus. As many as 15 ISUs can be multi-dropped and each of the ISU has all information about an individual channel like over range, sensor fault, power fail time, etc. Information exchange between user and ISU is done with a PC supported by a software package, which is menu-driven and user-friendly. The software version runs on MS-WINDOWS. A graph of selected channel for the entire 32KB storage can be obtained. A special highlighting feature of this unit is single channel on-line monitoring of selected channel. The instantaneous process variable is obtained and a graph is plotted.
