Crompton Greaves offers a digital Intelligent Electronic Device (IED), CB Master Plus 1.0. This is a state-of-the-art digital intelligent electronic device (IED) for SF6 circuit breakers. It performs monitoring, controls and diagnostics functions utilizing signals and user inputs. It also provides basic protection functions. Salient features: suitable for – 33 kV to 400 kV system voltage; user interface – intuitive graphic LCD with 128 x 64 pixels resolution keyboard interface for easy setting and viewing of system parameters; event logging – records events like faults, trips, etc; interlocks and controls – replace conventional auxiliary relays and contacts required for functions like adaptive control, programmable pole discrepancy setting; drives 6 trip coils and 3 close coils; suitable for single pole reclosure (SPR) type with double trip circuit; measurements and computations – measures and displays system voltages, currents frequency, power, PF, air pressure, SF6 gas pressure thus replacing conventional meters on the panels; diagnostics – breaker make time, break time, arcing time, closing and opening time, cumulative l2t measurements, trip coil health checking, fault current; protection – processes trip and alarm signals from other protective relays, point-on-wave switching for capacitive or reactive loads – calculates precise switching instant based on type of load, coil voltage and air pressure, SF6 gas pressure, temperature and idle time; and provision for pre-arcing time and re-ignition free window.
