Fibre-Optic Network

Macro is a fibre-optic digital communications network for large multi-axis motion control applications. This network operates in a ring topology at a speed of 100 Mbits per second. It connects motion controllers, servo amplifiers, and input/output devices. Each station has an In port for receiving data and an Out port for transmitting data. Data can be transmitted serially. Nodes, residing at a station, can act as amplifier axes, I/O banks, or communication interfaces to devices. Up to 256 nodes are supported by the 16 nodes which can be interfaced to one master. Up to 16 masters can reside in one ring.
