Electronic Ballasts

Anuja Electronics offers Electronic Ballasts. It replaces the starting and inductive elements of conventional system in lighting. It is used to increase the operating frequency of the system above the 50 or 60 Hz determined by the mains - typically to a few tens of kHz. It has two main effects: the gas in the tube does not have time to de-ionise between current cycles, which leads to lower power consumption, longer tube life and almost no flicker. The inductor required to generate a large enough over voltage to ionise the tube is smaller, and so generates less resistive losses, and the weight of the system is reduced. It has been developed to supply two 55 W fluorescent lamps. It is provided with a safety circuitry that, in case of open load or ignition failure, shuts down the supply of the two controllers.
