Elastomeric & Spring Isolators

Dynemech Systems offers vibration isolation with Elastomeric and Spring Isolators. Industrial machinery such as metal forming presses, precision machine tools and textiles, etc., is installed using a variety of methods depending on customer preference. There are many different types of machinery mounting systems available today. Anchorless machinery mounting systems have become more common due to the demands of customers who require faster machine installations and more plant layout flexibility. Some are designed simply for levelling (wedge mounts/screw support mounts); while others feature integral levelling combined with vibration isolation capabilities, i.e., elastomeric or steel spring (with or without viscous damping). The goal of vibration isolation is to isolate either the vibrating object (active isolation) or the object that must be protected against vibration (passive isolation) from its surrounding. Machines that generate high inertial forces relative to machine weight usually are installed using elastomer isolators, because they usually are stiffer than spring isolators and better control motion due to out-of-balance forces. Most machines are not dynamically balanced and generate impact, rocking and inertial forces, causing them to move excessively if mounted on an isolator that is too soft. Steel spring isolators (Series DSI, DSQ) are very effective in reducing both impact and inertial forces, but due to their low natural frequency and softness, excessive motion may result if large out-of-balance forces exist. Proper machine support, levelling and alignment are critical for any successful machine installation. A properly supported machine will move less, perform better and last longer.
