Dual Stream Isolator for Encoders

PG Electronics offers Dual Stream Isolator for Encoders. Incremental encoders normally provide 6 channels of pulse trains k1, k1-, k2, k2-, k0, k0-, which are used to give position information of a mechanism. If another stream of 6 pulses, which are electrically isolated, is required dual stream converter type IN-IAD of PG Electronics can be used. This interface obviates need of second Encoder or buffer circuit. Another set of 6 or 3 channels which is an exact replica of original output channels is available. Separate 10-30 V DC supply can be used with complete galvanic isolation. This avoids cross talk or even possible damage to the Encoder due to two different sources of supply. The unit is DIN rail mounted and can be easily used in control panel or PLC. It is commonly used in situations where position information for ‘counting’ and speed information for ‘feed back’ control is required. It also comes as handy solution where a separate and simultaneous outputs are desired from a single incremental encoder.
