Diskonchip 2000 Flash Disk Card

Advantech has developed solid state disc cards that house M-systems' DiskOnChip 2000 flash disk modules. DiskOnChip 2000 flash disk is intended for embedded and portable computers that have a requirement of modest disk capacity with lesser space and reliable data storage. PCD 897 is a new solid state disk card in a 32-pin DIP package. It has an ISA form factor PCM 3840 has a PC 104 form factor. They incorporate up to 3 sockets for DiskOnChip 2000 flash disk chips. Total capacity can be 36 MB. Apart from higher space, the new flash technology also enables faster read/write speeds. DiskOnChip 2000 flash disk is a BIOS expansion type bootable disk with True-FFS (true flash file system) standard. It works in various operating environments like DOS, Windows 95, PSOS+ and QNX. Features of PCD -897/PCM 3840 are: 3 sockets of single chip flash memory; 2-12 MB capacity flash per socket; full boot operability, superior read/write speeds with TrueFFS system; operates with Flite software for disk operations in O/S less environments.
