Digital Servoamplifier For Linear Motors

Etel has developed a digital PWM amplifier. DSA2 drive has the advantages of a direct drive solution, such as high dynamics, large bandwidth, high accuracy and stiffness. Two 16 bit microcontrollers, operating at 50 MHz, provide a flexible servo amplifier with a good performance/cost ratio. The position current and controls are fully digital. Protection for hardware and software have been integrated on the drive. The phase commutation is made directly from the encoder. Sinusoidal commutation is used with more than 2000 points per electrical period, avoiding any current stepping during a movement. Encoder interpolation is built in. A 12 bit analogue to digital converter is used to interpolate the sine and cosine wave out of the encoder.
