East West Infiniti offers Digital Camera, Snapshot-II. This camera is designed for traffic speed enforcement of today and ready for tomorrow; it has the flexibility of being deployed as a standalone system; or integrated into a network of traffic speed cameras using TCP/IP communication. A laser or radar speed sensor and a high resolution electronic digital camera are used to capture the traffic scene; when the speed measured by the sensor of a passing vehicle is higher than the speed limit, the camera takes one, two or up to eight high resolution snapshots of the speeding traffic scene: the image is tagged with the speed of vehicle, speed limit, date & time, location & officer"s name. In a networked camera environment a batch of offence shots are transferred to distant locations; like a tollbooth or a traffic office for processing; the choice of communication medium is very diverse as the Snapshot-II has a TCP/IP compliant Ethernet interface. Traffic tickets can either be printed on plain paper with colour images of the speeding offence (for spot ticketing), or at distant toll booths or at a traffic office (for post offence ticketing) connected to the camera site via TCP/IP wireless link or HFC fibre in live or in batch mode transmission.
