Copper Bonded Rods are best and economical electrodes, highly resistant to corrosion and the steel used has very high tensile strength and thickness of copper coating is 250 microns. Copper thickness is essential because the rods are driven vertically in the ground, these suffer a very strong mechanical suffer due to the surrounding materials and this pressure can result a loss of copper coating around 100 microns. Even so after installation the copper bonded rods still have a copper coating of 150 microns which is technically more than sufficient to assure a good protection against corrosion.
