Radio Remote Control Systems

Acropolis Engineering offers Radio Remote Control Systems. This is used for EOT cranes and other industrial applications. These systems increased productivity as the cranes are no longer operated from the cabin but rather from any convenient location at the floor level, thus eliminating the need for a full time crane operator. Manoeuvrability is improved, particularly high precision manoeuvres as the operator is no longer obliged to remain in the cabin and becomes free to position himself in the best possible vantage point. In addition, the operator no longer depends on a second person to signal him, which sometimes leads to confusion. Similarly, in case of pendant operated cranes the operator is required to walk alongside the pendant controller. This limitation is overcome with radio remote controls, by which safety and work conditions are improved as the crane operator can choose the safest and most convenient spot from which to work, away from dangerous areas and unpleasant environmental conditions (heat, smoke, noise, etc), and he himself can carry out slinging operations. Various models for 3-motion and 4-motion cranes with single or multiple speeds are available. Portable lightweight transmitters may be worn in a belt; even smaller ones can be held in hand. Their controls replicate crane cabin or pendant controls. The hand held pushbutton type system is suitable for operating floor operated pendant controlled as well as cabin operated master controlled cranes. The latest developments include PLL systems, which are fully function programmable by Window software.
