Fibre-Optic Motion Controllers

The DSPro Series is a motion control line that offers dual processors with on-board DOS program execution. The Series includes board level motion controllers for ISA and VME buses as well as a standalone controller. All SERCOS motion controllers feature a standard fibre-optic interconnect, noise immunity, simple wiring, and advanced diagnostics, says the manufacturer. SERCOS controllers are available for ISA, STD and PC-104 buses. The motion controllers are well suited for machine tool OEMs because they enable system developers to create machine controls using the company"s C-function libraries. The DSPro-PC runs MS-DOS on board and can execute motion control programs totally independent of the host.. All Series products combine an Intel 386EX microprocessor and 387 math co-processor with a 40 MHz analogue device DSP to enable motion control programs to run without host intervention. Like the other boards in the Series, the control offers up to eight axes of servo or stepper control on a singleslot ISA card. The control offers 1 MB of RAM and up to 1 MB of flash memory to store multiple motion control programs.
