The Typ 1 osa was designed to operate up to five servo loops and can be used for a wide variety of applications, including, drilling, milling, turning, grinding, transfer lines, rotary indexing machines, laser machining, plastics and woodworking, pipe and wire bending, glass machining, foam and stone cutting, general automation and more. Designed as a PLC module, the control is a compact 60 x 265 x 150 mm.In the basic version, the system is equipped with an integral PLC to operate a total of six input and output cards. For more extensive applications, the control is integrated into the controllers of the Bosch PLC range CL 300, 400 and 500. The operating panel incorporates a PC using Windows 3.1 as the operating system. The PC permits the use of the Bosch workshop oriented programming packages as well as specific programming packages that are customized for the particular applications. The Typ3 osa is designed for a wide range of applications that require complex motion control, including milling, laser cutting, thread cutting, woodworking, waterjet cutting, EDM, glass cutting, grinding, pipe bending, and more. The open system concept of the control is achieved through a new type of hardware and software architecture, which enables it to offer an OEM platform for individual control concepts. One Typ3 osa can control up to 16 independent niachine parts simultaneously. It also offers customer specific design of the user interface for added customization and simplicity, says the builder.
