ECS offers the CNC 1401D, an evotution of its 1401 series. This product is characterised by proven HW reliability. It still retains the main advantages of the old CNC 1401, ie, high flexibility, very good price/performances ratio, powerful implemented languages and high-level graphics, but at the same time it features new characteristics, such as the possibility to pilot the new ECS IDD servodrives digitally, and wider and easier customisation options. The man/machine interface consists of MS Windows operating system, so that the data can be entered using specific windows. In addition to these windows, the operator can communicate with the PLC with the help of 8 specific function keys located to the right side of the monitor. These keys are fully configurable, which means that both their functions and the icons associated to them can be changed. The operator's console includes: colour 10.4"TFT monitor (remote controllable up to 10 m away from the main unit); membrane alphanumeric PC AT keyboard; CNC function keys (Reset, Start, Hold, Axes Hold and Release); PLC function keys, which can be configured according to the context; speed override and feed override potentiometers; and, circuitry for the management of the external handwheel. The 1.44 Mb floppy drive is remote controllable up to 30 m away from the main unit and can be installed on the operator panel even on large machines. The 800 MB (minimum capacity) hard disk sets no limits no the number and size of programs that can be stored.
