3-Axis Stepper Motor Control Card

PCL-839 is a PC pluggable card for stepper motor control. It turns a typical 1BM compatible PC into a 3-axis motion controller. PCL-839 has on-board microcontroller along with adequate memory to have an efficient command-driven interface with the PC. The controller, in turn, drives the motors with separate, independent drivers. The commands can be passed with the card's high level interpreter. In cases of controling the stepper motors by directly writing control registers, standard C libraries are also provided. PCL-839 supports linear and circular interpolation, and can achieve speeds of 16 KPPS (kilo pulses per second). Along with optoisolated outputs, the card also has five isolated digital inputs per axis, 16 normal digital inputs and 16 digital outputs. With such a high integration the card can accept limit switches to control the motors more effectively. PCL-839 is useful in precision position control applications as well as multi-axis, robotic control. PCL 839 is suitable in extended temperature range and industrial environments.
