Solid State Soft-Starter, 2-Phase

A 2-phase solid state soft-starter from Satronix (India) is available for 3-phase motor of rating 1.5 kW-11 kW. Features: soft startup and run down with voltage ramp; integrated by pass contact for minimising power loss; economical, analog type controller; 20% reduction in starting current, energy saving through reduced peak kVA; steplessly controls voltage supply to the induction motor during the starting phase, in this manner the machine is gently brought up to load condition; reduces starting drive torque, minimises stress on motor bearings, drive belts and chains; and eliminates high current transients when a 3-phase motor switches from star to delta.
