These are bi-stable devices, which utilise a permanent magnet, wound coil, and spring-loaded armature (plunger) to effect the desired result of actuation. Solenoids for industrial circuit breakers and industrial relays are also available in the range. The actuation force is dependent only upon the spring force. Typical applications are those, which require high actuation forces in a very small package and with minimal actuation voltage and current. These mechanisms can be built from standard solenoid frames or they can become totally custom design, whichever best suits the customer"s application.
