Jayashree Electrodevices came into being in 1994 by taking over the manufacturing of electro mechanical products from the proprietary parent company, Jayashree Enterprises, which had begun life in 1972 by manufacturing the electrodynamic speed switch, an import substitute product. From this modest, the company produced a stream of products like belt conveyor safety switches inclusive of Pull Cord, Belt Sway, Roller Limit, Deinterlocking and Rotary Cam switches, and more recently, sophisticated control and power products such as Selsyns, tachogenerators, DC brush type and AC/DC brushless servo motors. Selsyn is essentially an electrical repeating device having same working principle and construction as that of a slipring induction motor. However, it performs an entirely different function i.e. speed/position monitoring, length counting by operating as an electrically interconnected pair designated as transmitter and receiver.
