Primary Current Injectors

Udeyraj Electricals offers Primary Current Injectors (PCT). Almost all electricity supply protective equipment is fed from a current transformer on the supply cable or bus bar. Primary current injection testing checks all the components of the protective system. A high test current, enough to cause the protection equipment to operate is, injected into the equipment. Time taken for the protection device to operate is then measured. Udey series PCT is essential when commissioning new protection systems, routine maintenance and after major repair/replacement, since it tests the whole system. Series PCT conducts timing tests on protective devices. Additionally series PCT can be used as a current source for current transformer ratio testing, etc. Standard models with continuously variable, isolated and distortion free outputs up to 500, 1000, 2000 and 3000 amperes are available. Higher current outputs are made to order. Besides the series PCT can also be used for secondary testing up to 100 A. The loading transformers are heavy-duty and double wound. Output metering is on digital LED display. Time interval system is solid state, crystal base and multi-range. The series PCT are portable, sturdy and built-in powder coated sheet steel cabinets.
