Emform Power Projects Pvt Ltd, Bangalore, is a 100 percent subsidiary of BICC Group, one of the largest international engineering service organisations based in the UK. Emform UK is a world leader in design, manufacture and installation of generator connections comprising isolated phase busbars and associated auxiliary equipment (VT cubicles, NG cubicles) with over fifty years of experience. The design incorporates unique features such as inspection of insulators in-situ without dismantling, replacement of faulty insulators without disturbing the busbar system, sliding conductor assembly to cater to the differential expansion between conductor and enclosure, sliding enclosure assembly (with conductor), multiple spring loaded insulators to allow the centralisation of the conductor during short circuit conditions and relieve initial stress on insulators during normal operating conditions. The design of busbar system inherently meets IP 55 requirements and is suitable for pressurization. The isolated phase busbars are designed for voltage rating fom 12 kV to 36 kV, naturally air cooled up to a rating of 20 kA and force air cooled above 20 kA to 40 kA. The VT and NG cubicles are designed for reliability and safety features associated with generator connections. The integrity of the equipment has been established by virtue of its long service in commercial operations and simulations conducted in various test laboratories. The generator connections are designed to cater to the requirements of various international specifications and service conditions. Optimum designs are obtained by computer simulation to provide a cost effective solution to the customer yet meeting all the design parameters.
