MS Corrugated Wall Panel For Transformer Tanks

Prowess Engineering’s MS Corrugated Wall Panels (Folded Fins) have substituted the use of traditional transformer tanks (with or without radiator). The corrugated wall panels serve as a tank body, which acts as an excellent heat exchanger. The use of wall panel in transformer tanks reduces the weight of the tank by 30%, making it lighter for handling and transport. It reduces the assembly/manufacturing time of the tank(s). The number of welded joints is reduced which provides lesser chances of leakage. The significant advantage of the wall panel is the reduced tank size with reduced oil capacity and higher rating of transformers. The width of the panel ranges from 400-1600 mm with a fin height of 50-400 mm, pitch variation from 40-60 mm (edge bend up to 25 mm at one end of the panel is possible). The machine has parting off facility within. Embossing across the fin with spot welding is the added advantage. This gives the stability to the fin, avoiding deformations. As the panels are manufactured on CNC controlled machines, the accuracy and consistency is assured. The fin edges are welded simultaneously on the machine, by TIG/MIG process, and are further checked on a stroboscope light or die penetration (DP) tester for leak proofness. The panels are further coated/treated with chemicals for rust prevention or painted by primer coats required by the customers.
