Motor Checker - EMC 22

Motor checker, Model EMC 22, is a small portable diagnostic tool for electrical engineers and is used for quick on site checks of electric motors and other three phase machines, without having to dismantle the machine. The instrument has three separate operating modes to measure different types of faults such as faulty insulation, open circuits/loose connections, short circuits and rotor defects. Motor insulation is tested with a high voltage of 500 V DC supplied by the instrument, and by measuring the insulation resistance between motor terminals and motor housing. The resistance of each winding is measured and compared to identify open circuits/loose connection problems. Inductance measurement across a stator winding is used to check the rotor. The instrument has three test lead terminals used for insulation measurement and resistance/inductance measurement. The pointer dial has a double scale. Insulation resistance is shown in megohm while winding resistance and inductance is shown in percentage.
