Lightning Protection Systems

Vserve Energy Systems, a leading supplier of electrical transformers, HT VCB panels, light fixtures and cable jointing kits, has now added a state-of-the-art Lightning Protection Systems, manufactured by Indelec S.A., France, to its product range. Indelec is a pioneer in the field of lightning protection, with 40% market share in the world. Prevectron is the ESE (early streamer emission) lightning conductor complete with a central pickup rod, made of either electrolytic copper or stainless steel, with an upper series of electrodes to generate sparks, a waterproof housing connected to the earth and, an electrical triggering device, sealed within the protective housing and a lower series of electrodes to collect the ambient electrical energy. Further, in comparison to the conventional single rod system, there are several advantages in using the Prevectron, as listed below: large protection radius; improved maximum effectiveness and longevity; total autonomy; activates itself only when there is a risk of lightning; permanent single drop from the tip of the air-terminal down to the earth; full compliance with the French Std. NF C 17-102; reliability and sturdiness tested by both CNRS and in real-life lightning conditions by the CEA (French Atomic Energy Commission); and tested in CPRI Lab in India.
