Laminated copper flexible connections (LCFC) are produced from high conductivity electrolytic grade copper foils/sheets as per BS: 4608, 1970 (C101). B B Electrotechnic has mastered various methods to produce these flexible jumpers. These include: 1. Sweating – the flexible material is dipped in hot molten solder and pressed, which solidifies the contact area. This process produces a connector with good electrical properties at an economical price; and 2. Press welding – individual copper strips are fused (one homogeneous mass) together by applying direct current and pressure. This method produces a solid palm with properties of a plain busbar of the same cross section. It assures minimum resistance and hence increases product life and reduces downtime. Welding provides the best mechanical and electrical properties at high temperatures. Laminated flexibles take less cross section area than braided flexible. These flexibles are available in all sizes covering the desired cross section area. Slotted holes can be provided on request.
