The Ferrite Welding Rod is commonly known as impeder core and used in the manufacture of steel pipes. In the high frequency inductive steel tube welding, tubes are manufactured by pulling a mild steel strip through numerous sets of steel rolls. The steel strip acquires an open seam tubular shape, which are then passed through a high frequency induction coil. The coil works as a primary and the open seam tube acts as one turn secondary. The induced current densities are highest at the edges and results into rapid heating of these edges of the steel sheet. The subsequent pressure rolls press the open red-hot seams together to form a butt weld joint. These ferrite-welding rod or impeder rod cores are placed inside the tube to suppress the return current on the inner surface of the tube resulting in a highly efficient welding process.
