Corona Detection Work at Substation

Corona can be defined as partial discharge occurring at places with a high electric field that ionize the air. This produces ozone and nitrogen oxides. At high humidity the oxide creates nitric acid – a very corrosive material which removes the plating & causes corrosion to steel parts, conductors and insulators. Corona on insulators is an indication of ionization voltage at that point due to contamination or damage, either of which can lead to a flashover. Ozone is created by Corona and is harmful to human lungs & eyes. Ramelex use,ultra-modern UV, day time corona detection camera to detect corona discharge and provide analysed useful information to the customers, so that preventive measures can be taken before some major damage is done.
