Emform Power Projects Pvt Ltd, Bangalore, is a 100 percent subsidiary of BICC Group, one of the largest international engineering service organisations based in the UK. Emform, UK, designs, manufactures and installs busbar systems for low distribution of bulk power and has over fifty years of experience. The design comprises unique features such as unitised straight lengths and horizontal and vertical bends, all-aluminium housing to minimise eddy current losses and prevent hysteresis losses (stray losses in the enclosure), prefabricated supports (rigid and spring loaded), low impedance earth current paths, corrosion resistant to onerous environmental conditions and inherent IP 55 degree of protection. The low reactance as an inherent feature of the Sandwich design makes it ideally suited for bulk power distribution over comparatively long distances. By virtue of its design and mode of heat dissipation, the unit is extremely compact when cornpared to a similar rating of conventional busduct. The busways are designed for a rating of 1.1 kV and 5 kA. Tap-off boxes incorporating switchfuse units or moulded case circuit breakers with built-in operational safety features can be provided at predetermined locations for bulk power distribution. The integrity of the equipment has been established by virtue of its long service in commercial operations and simulations conducted in various test laboratories. The busways are designed to cater to the requirements of various International Specifications and Service Conditions.
