True-rms Industrial Logging Multimeter

The high-performance True-rms Industrial Logging Multimeter, Fluke 289 has advanced functionality for diagnosing problems in electronics, plant automation, power distribution and electromechanical equipment. The Fluke 289 features a logging function with expanded memory that stores up to 10,000 readings for unattended monitoring of signals over time. Users can save multiple logging sessions before PC download is necessary and review logged readings in graphical format directly on the meter display using on-board TrendCapture capability. The Fluke 289 features a large 50,000-count, 3-1/2 inch 1/4 VGA dot-matrix display with a white backlight that can simultaneously display multiple sets of measurement information. It includes context-sensitive onboard help screens, multiple save options and automatic time stamping for convenient recall of measurements made in the field. Optional FlukeView® forms PC software enables users to document, store and analyze individual readings or a series of measurements, and then convert them into professional-looking reports. The Fluke 289 has a two-terminal 50-ohm range with 1 milliohm resolution and 10 mA source current, which is useful for measuring and comparing differences in motor winding resistance or contact resistance. It also features a Low Pass filter for accurate voltage and frequency measurements on adjustable speed motor drives and other electrically noisy equipment, and a LoZ Volts low impedance voltage function for eliminating ghost voltages or for use when testing for the presence of live power. For accurate measurement on non-linear signals, the Fluke 289 has true-rms voltage and current functionality. It has a 50 mF capacitance range, peak capture to record transients as fast as 250 microseconds, is capable of measuring up to 10 A (or 20 A for 30 seconds), and has a relative mode that removes test lead resistance from low ohms or capacitance measurements. The meter is designed to withstand hazardous 8,000 volt spikes caused by load switching and faults on industrial circuits and complies with second edition IEC and ANSI electrical safety standards.
