pH Electrodes

The importance of measuring pH is reflected in the outstanding range of products available. pH is the measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. It is defined as the negative logarithm of hydrogen ion activity. A pH value describes the relative quantity of hydrogen ions (H+) contained in a solution. The greater the concentration of H+ (The more acidic the solution) the lower the pH.

A Standard pH measuring system consists of three elements

• A pH sensitive membrane
• A Reference half / cell electrode
• A pH meter or controller
