Oil Test Set, A/7

Oil Test Set, A/7

The oil test set from Udey is used for testing transformer oil electric strength. The features are as follows: Features: * Specifications to IS 6792 * Distortion free output * Heavy duty HV Transformer * Safety interlock system * Tested by IDEMI (Govt of India) lab Udey Oil Test Set has been specifically designed for testing the di-electric breakdown strength of insulating oils in accordance with IS 6792 using disc electrodes. The di-electric strength of the insulating oil is a measure of its ability to withstand electric stress without failure. Operation: All the controls and indicators are located on attractive panel with clear easy to read legend. The variable autotransformer supplying the HV transformer is manually operated in models US/6, US/7 and US/l0 while in models A/6, A/7, and A/l0 it is motor operated with manual override. A Kilo voltmeter is provided to indicate the test voltage. If the attention of the test operator is distracted during testing process, the kilo voltmeter is so connected that the meter continues to indicate the failure voltage. Transformer: The HV step up transformer is a completely dry transformer encapsulated in epoxy resin while the HV winding consists of two identical coils. The magnetic design ensures distortion free output. Circuitry: The mains are applied to a continuously variable toroidal auto-transformer through a switch and fuse. The output of this variable autotransformer is fed to the primary of the HV transformer. The secondary of the HV transformer has its midpoint connected to earth through a current transformer. The secondary of the current transformer is connected to a sensitive relay. When the leakage current in the circuit exceeds a preset value, the relay operates, thereby tripping the supply to the primary of the HV transformer. Safety: Maximum possible safety of the operator as well as the equipment is ensured by a safety conscious design. The voltage controller is interlocked at its minimum position so that HV can be switched ON only when the Voltage controller is at zero and the hood is shut. The voltage controller must be brought to zero after every test or interruption. The hood leading to HV terminals has a micro switch fitted so that opening of the lid shuts the HV OFF. Meter: A meter in the primary of the HV Transformer is calibrated in terms of the HV available at the secondary of the HV transformer. The meter is calibrated by means of actual measurement on an electrostatic type HV meter and not by mere transformer turns ratio. Cabinet: Sheet steel portable with lifting handles. Cabinet is finished in durable, stove enameled paint. Test cell: The test cell is made of perspex and has removable electrodes for easy cleaning and polishing. The accessories supplied with each set are mains cord, test cell with electrodes, guages - GO and NO GO, instruction manual and works test certificate, indicator lamps- 3 in all. Green: Indicates MAINS ON Yellow: Indicates HV OFF Red: Indicates HV ON The A/7 model has an input of 220/250 Volts AC, 50 Hz Single Phase while the output ranges from 0-75KV 750 VA. The accuracy ranges between ? 4 percent of full scale. The rate of rise of voltage is measured automatically as per ISS 6792/1972 2KV/sec (with over ride manual operation) motorised. The overall dimensions of the tester is 50 x 60 x 44cm and costs Rs 27,000/-. The oil test set from Udey is used for testing transformer oil electric strength.
