Linear Potentiometers

Fluro Engineering offers Linear Potentiometer. In machine automation measuring the stroke or linear motion is one of the most critical aspect, considering the complex mechanical arrangements involved and the accuracy required. The linear potentiometer is one of the simplest and the cheapest solution. In linear potentiometers the layer of conductive plastic is there on the PCB and the wipers move over them to provide the signal proportional to the wiper position. The typical linearity obtained is 0.05% and the life of more than 100 x 106 operations. There is one more advantage of using linear potentiometer over the rotary encoder and is that it gives the absolute value of the measurement. The various applications are for measuring and controlling, clamping/injection strokes, dancer roller position monitoring and controlling, for controlling tension on film, hydraulic press jaw control, etc.
